The Edwin Montano scholarship program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run entirely by volunteers who are passionate about students pursuing higher educational opportunities. We strive to enrich the lives of Waukegan area residents, concentrating on the Hispanic population and emphasizing Hispanic culture.
The scholarship is named after the late Edwin Montano, a leader in the Waukegan Hispanic community who saw education as the key to success for the next generation. For 60 years, the Puerto Rican Society in Waukegan has presented scholarships to college students. Financial assistance is necessary for many college students, particularly those planning careers requiring years of education beyond the undergraduate level. Scholarships have unique benefits and are the most desirable form of financial aid. At the Puerto Rican Society, our primary goal is to help students.
The application period for the Edwin Montano Scholarship is now officially closed. We appreciate the interest and effort of all applicants who submitted their materials. This scholarship aims to support and recognize outstanding individuals, and we look forward to reviewing each application thoroughly. For those who missed the deadline, we encourage you to stay connected and watch for future opportunities to apply.
